Jennifer has been teaching classes on how to make biodiesel for almost 3 years. She joined the Berkeley Biodiesel Collective and learned to make biodiesel from girl Mark. Together they taught two 3-month-long homebrewing internships in 2003. Since then she’s been teaching classes at her house and other locations in Northern California. She co-founded the BioFuel Oasis, the first biodiesel filling station in Berkeley, where she teaches monthly classes on changing your fuel filter. The reason she teaches classes is to help people into action (to actually go on to homebrew, etc.), so her workshops are very hands-on. |

Alan took one of Jennifer’s classes in January of 2004. He quickly went on to build a processor and buy a myriad of diesel vehicles. He founded the Alameda Biodiesel Collective, a small group of people homebrewing biodiesel on the island of Alameda. He is an active member of the Berkeley Biodiesel Collective and put together a demonstration homebrewing setup on a trailer to show at events around the Bay Area. He also owns Quality Shingle Work in Alameda. |
